About Me

Allison Mahurin, RN BSN, IBCLC

Compassion, empathy, and inclusivity, combined with evidence-based techniques grounded in research are the hallmarks of my practice.

I firmly believe in the value of embracing all families during their infant feeding journey, to achieve their individual feeding goals.  Each breastfeeding/chestfeeding parent is on their own path. Together, we will cut through the cultural noise and expectations to heal your infant feeding narrative and come up with concrete solutions to help you achieve your feeding goals.

I have been an RN-(Registered Nurse) since 2006 after completing a Bachelors’ of Science in Nursing at Mount St. Mary’s College in Brentwood, CA.  I received my post-graduate lactation training at UC San Diego and received my certification as an IBCLC (Internationally Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) from the IBLCE.

My expertise includes but is not limited to-

  • Issues with milk supply.

  • Latching issues-nipple pain/nipple trauma.

  • Breast pain-plugged ducts, mastitis.

  • Tethered oral tissues (TOTs) aka. “tongue tie and lip tie.”

  • Safe infant feeding-bottle feeding, formula feeding, introduction of solids.

  • Adoptive parent feeding.

  • Induced lacation and relactation.
